There comes a moment in life when you realize you have a choice.
You can allow life to happen to you…
Or you can decide who you are going to become through it.
We all face storms. Some are public. Some are silent. Some break us open in ways nobody else can see. Loss. Fear. Betrayal. Reinvention. Starting over. Health battles. Financial pressure. Relationships. Grief. Uncertainty.
I’ve lived through seasons where I felt like I was drowning emotionally while still smiling for the world around me. Seasons where I questioned everything. Seasons where I had to learn how to stand back up when life didn’t go according to plan.
And what I’ve learned is this:
You cannot always control the storm around you.
But you can decide whether you become the calm… or the storm within it.
Being the calm does not mean you are weak.
It means you are grounded.
It means you choose peace over panic.
Faith over fear.
Wisdom over reaction.
Being the calm means walking into chaos without letting it steal your identity. It means learning to breathe through uncertainty and trusting that God is still working even when you cannot see the outcome yet.
But sometimes… you must be the storm.
Sometimes being the storm means refusing to stay small. Refusing to let heartbreak define you. Refusing to allow criticism, judgment, or fear to silence your purpose.
There are moments in life where being the storm means rising with power, conviction, courage, and truth.
It means rebuilding your life.
Starting the business.
Leaving what no longer serves you.
Protecting your peace.
Speaking up.
Taking the risk.
Believing in yourself again.
The older I get, the more I realize strength is not found in perfection. It is found in resilience.
Real strength is being soft enough to love deeply while strong enough to survive hard seasons.
This world will always try to tell you who you should be. But your greatest power comes when you stop living for approval and start living authentically.
Maybe today you need to be the calm.
Maybe today you need to become the storm.
Either way… don’t stay stuck.
Life is too short to live disconnected from your purpose, your faith, your voice, and your calling.
There is still time to reinvent yourself.
Still time to heal.
Still time to dream bigger.
Still time to become who you were created to be.
So when life tests you — and it will — ask yourself:
Will I let this break me?
Or will I let this build me?
Be the calm.
Be the storm.
But whatever you do… be fully alive.
